Maybe you're preparing to purchase your very first trailer. Or maybe you are ready have a trailer, but it's time to trade it in for a larger model. Regardless of your situation, you can't really decide what sort of trailer together until you have a good handle on the amount of interior space your trailer will require. You'll also have to determine what vehicle you be using to tell the trailer, and how long the trailer is going to be.
If you have a racing operation, and your trailer will be used to haul your racecars, you probably want one which can handle not only the cars themselves, that all your peripherals like tools, computers, spare tires and parts, transmissions and engines, your pit machinery, and your support vehicles.
If you have more than one car to haul, but don't want the hassle of having to maneuver an exceptionally long trailer, then your ideal solution will be to purchase a stacker trailer. A stacker trailer is fine as long as you have the motorhome, toter home, or heavy duty truck to pull it.
The term "stacker trailer," is fairly self-explanatory -- it refers to a trailer equipped with a hydraulic lift gate or an internal vehicle lift which will let you stack one car on top of another. A stacker trailer is at least 3 1/2 feet taller than the standard trailer, and weighs in when it's empty at about 12,000 pounds.
If you're custom ordering a stacker trailer, you can specify whether you want either the lift gate, or a height probably powered lift platform. The lift platform will let you load vehicle above another inside the trailer. It can be operated with a hand held control, and once you have the upper vehicle in its "birth, you can simply drive the second deal into position right underneath the top one.
You can also have a stacker trail equipped with cabinets in its upper deck, which is accessible with a ladder. If you need a place to relax while you're on the road, you could even fit out the upper area of a stacker trailer with sleeping accommodations and an entertainment system! You'll be able keep an eye on your vehicles while you're at the racetrack, and relax at the same time.
